Storm King Boat Club has been successful in its Community Grant application to the Southern Downs Regional Council for a single scull (rowing craft) which has been used by the club's first competitive members, students from Stanthorpe State High School, at the South Queensland Rowing Conference, where they competed against schools from the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and Brisbane. The financial support allowed SKBC rowers to have access to a competitive boat for individual competition. The club is looking forward to entering even more members, including masters, grade and juniors in  the QSRC Club Regatta Series starting in October culminating in the 2022 Queensland Grade Championships in December.

Storm King Boat Club would like to acknowledge Council's ongoing support for its activities, which have increased significantly since the dam reached capacity in 2021.
